About RELAI
RELAI is building the infrastructure to make AI agents reliable in production.
We help enterprises design, evaluate, and optimize AI agents, turning brittle prototypes into robust, scalable workflows that actually work in real-world environments.
We operate at the intersection of:
- AI agent design
- Evaluation and optimization
- Enterprise deployment
Our ambition is to define how AI systems are built in production.
The Role
We are hiring an exceptional AI Research Engineer to advance the frontier of agentic AI through new techniques for the creation, simulation, evaluation, and optimization of AI agents.
This is a deeply technical role for someone who can move fluidly between research, experimentation, and practical product impact.
You will:
- Develop and improve core AI methods, algorithms, and systems across the lifecycle of reliable AI agents
- Create novel approaches for simulation, evaluation, and optimization of agent behavior in real-world settings
- Turn your ideas into working systems, prototypes, and production-facing capabilities
- Work closely with product and engineering teams to translate frontier AI innovation into practical customer value
- Help define RELAI's technical direction in agent reliability, evaluation, and optimization
You will be:
- A core contributor to the AI techniques behind RELAI's platform
- A driver of original ideas that shape our product and research direction
- A bridge between frontier AI innovation and real-world deployment
Who You Are
You are deeply motivated by advancing the frontier of AI, but you care just as much about building things that work in practice.
You are comfortable taking on ambiguous, open-ended problems and driving them from concept to meaningful outcome. You are highly creative, technically strong, and pragmatic about what creates real value.
Required skills:
- Strong expertise in AI/ML research with a PhD in CS or a related field
- Experience working on AI agents or agent frameworks
- Strong programming ability, especially in Python
- The ability to turn ideas into experiments, systems, and usable outcomes
- The ability to work effectively across research, engineering, and product teams
- A strong sense of ownership and a desire to help shape core frontier AI capabilities
Nice to have:
- Experience with evaluation, simulation, planning, reasoning, or optimization systems
- Publications in top-tier conferences or contributions to widely used open-source projects
- Experience translating research ideas into production systems
The Bar At RELAI
We are explicit about this: the bar to work at RELAI is extremely high.
We are building a small team of people who:
- Operate with extreme ownership
- Think in systems, not features
- Are deeply passionate about working at the frontier of AI
- Raise the standard for everyone around them
You should expect:
- High intensity
- High autonomy
- High expectations
Why Join
- Work directly on one of the hardest problems in AI today: reliability in production
- Be at the center of product, customers, and revenue
